Jeremy and I have an ongoing thing...which name will Colton say first....What do ya'll think? Unfortunately, I've been informed that they almost always say Dada first. Don't they know how much work the Momma's have put into the whole thing? Breastfeeding, diaper changes, and not to mention the 9-10 months of carrying them in our lovely bellies...sheesh! Oh...tonight, Colton got on all fours and rocked back and forth...please pray he doesn't figure out crawling any time soon!

Almost Crawling!

My first taste of Mac-N-Cheese (mommy's favorite!)
I love my tent! Thanks Gramma!
Peek-a-Boo!

Colton had an absolute blast in Florence with my Mom and sister this past weekend. The timing was perfect because I came down with a nasty sinus infection and was in no condition to play with the little man. Luckily, that has passed (knock on wood) and we're all healthy again in the Duffy household! There was no anxiety ridden moments over the weekend. Jeremy and I enjoyed a relaxing date night where we didn't feel like we had to rush. We were so looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday...but around 7 am, we looked at each other and gave up on that pipe dream. Sunday was a different story, I think we slept until around 8 am!!!! Hooray for small miracles! We were ready to go get our munchkin. Mom and Michelle's report from a weekend with Colton...he ate every 2 hours!!!! Apparently, he is either going through a growth spurt or he's making up for being sick last week. Overall, he was a very happy boy at Gramma's house. He enjoyed all his new toys and new tricks he learned from Aunt Michelle!
Colton has been a very busy boy! This evening, he got up on all fours and thought about crawling (enter gasp of horror!). Jeremy and I agree that we can wait on mobility! Luckily, he didn't do anything except fall over :) He's been eating like a champ. So I think it's safe to say that he's feeling a lot better. We haven't really had to use the nebulizer since Friday when we went back to the doctor for his check-up. Which by the way, he weighed 16 lbs and 3 oz on Friday. He got his booster Flu shot and barely cried! Atta Boy!
Sadly, I've been enjoying some of this rainy weather because that means Jeremy gets to come home early from work. When it rains, they usually don't have baseball practice and Colton gets to have someone else to play with. He has been LOVING peek-a-boo and bouncing. He enjoys it when Jeremy or I build a tower of blocks and he gets to knock them down. He is eating lots of veggies and really likes bananas (in a jar). He tried mac-n-cheese tonight and wasn't sure about it, but ate the whole jar just to make sure! I'm going to really try to take some more pics this weekend and upload them soon. He's changing everyday. His personality is really coming out. He's such a happy boy! (But who wouldn't be with me as his mom? and I guess and with Jeremy as his dad?) He's a very lucky boy...and we're super lucky that he's such a good sleeper!!!!
We went and visited our neighbors Daniel and Stephanie last night...their bundle of joy, Mia, arrived on 2/3/10. She's soooo tiny! I remember when Colton was that little, but barely! She's not as good of a sleeper as Colton, but maybe he'll rub off on her. We're looking forward to Colton having a playmate right next door.

Our street in the snow...compliments of Jeremy's Photography Skills
It's all the way up to her side!
Colton is feeling much better! He decided he was He-Man and could pick up his tent and toss it from side to side.
Colton has tried squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, apple sauce and peas so far. He's not too fond of peas, but will eat them if mixed with something else. He DOES NOT like apple sauce at all! We have got to get a video of that response, absolutely hilarious! When he went to the doctor last week, he was 15lbs, 8 oz! But you would never know he gained an ounce, he's not a chubby baby by any stretch of the imagination. He is very interested in pulling Mommy's hair (OUCH!). He's lunging for things he wants. He's not crawling, but he does what we've coined the "inch worm" movement. When on his tummy, he sticks his little butt in the air and lunges his chest forward, just like a worm. He'll be crawling before we know it...and our life as we know it will be over!
Jeremy has officially started baseball season :( Colton's a lot of work without my helper every evening. Thankfully, he helps out a lot in the morning. Last week, Colton moved into the big baby room. He was too mobile for the newborn room...tear :( His teachers in the newborn room were so sad to see him go, they almost cried. They want him back!
This weekend, Colton is spending a whole weekend away from Mommy and Daddy! My mom (aka Gramma) is keeping our little man. I know he'll be okay, I'm not so sure about me. Although, the sound of a couple really good nights sleep sound fabulous to me. Mom is so excited! I'm sure we'll get lots of text updates...right Mom?????
Ta-ta for now...it's almost my bed time (9pm)...so sad! I'm officially one of "those" people who go to bed early! YIKES! (I'm pretty sure I got to bed before my mom!)

Snow in South Carolina!

Sadie wants in from all the snow...it's up to her belly!
Welcome...it's supposed to be warm here!
Daddy and Colton in his first snow
Mommy and Colton...please forgive the lack of make-up :)

His first sickness :(

Well, it had to happen sometime, right? Colton wasn't feeling too well last week and Thursday I decided to take him to the doctor. Turns out, our little man has RSV. It isn't too terrible, but it made him not want to eat or sleep like he normally does. He gets treatments 2 times a day through a nebulizer and takes some cough drops. Other than that, that's it! Thursday night, he kept us up all night. Friday night he did more of the same, and Jeremy started not feeling well. SO....what's a girl to do, but call her Momma! Gramma to the rescue! Colton is feeling much better and slept in his own bed Sunday night for the first time since Thursday. He had been sleeping on one of our chests each night. I think that helped him breathe better. Sunday night, we were all feeling better. Thanks mom for an actual real nights rest! Colton is getting back to his regular happy self. This morning he was talking up a storm and was smiling big! I'll post some pictures soon, I promise. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
