Hi everyone...Lisa's back! I'm so sorry that we haven't been updating as much as we need to. I am sure most of you have heard our sad news about the passing of my father. It was quite a shock to all of us but we're making it day by day. We promise we will upload more pictures soon. Colton came home on Saturday and Jeremy and I have survived our first few days without killing each other. He even took his first car ride to Florence without problems. We're continuing to figure out his schedule, as ours does not seem ot matter anymore (but we knew that would happen). He's been eating like a champ...more and more every day. Colton can't wait to meet all his new friends! Thanks for all the kind thoughts and prayers that have been sent our way.

Im 2 Days Old!!!

In the first picture, Colton says "I am just 2 days old and I have figured out about 100 ways for the Gamecocks to make the officials do this when we play...NC State on September 3rd!" LOL, thought you would like that one John!

In the second picture, I get to hold my boy for the first time!
In the third picture, I am taking my turn helping Lisa feed!

I am here...

In the first picture, Colton gets to meet one set of grandparents.
In the second picture, Lisa and Colton get some nice bonding time before he is taken off to the nursery.
In the third picture, Colton is showing that he has "big" feet just like his daddy!
In the fourth picture, Colton is having fun peeing on the nurses cleaning him up after delivery!

Pictures from the hospital...

The first picture that you are seeing is when Lisa just arrived at the hospital and they figured out that her water had really and truly broke.

The second picture is when Lisa's parents arrived...I was extremely happy because my hand was almost swollen by that point!

The third picture is of Lisa being extremely happy about getting her epideral...

Colton is here...

Colton was born at 5:14pm on July 21st! He was 6lbs 9 ounces, and 20 inches long! He is having to spend 6 hours in the special care nursery because he was 1 day away from being 37 weeks old! Lisa did an outstanding job pushing...lots of thanks to our nurses, doctor, family, friends, and our doula!

We are both very tired...going to try and rest before Colton comes back to our room. We are going to post pictures soon!

She definitly is a trooper!!!

It is 12:05 here at the hospital and Lisa has been in labor now for 8 hours and 36 minutes. She definitely has worked very hard, and finally had enough of natural child birth between 6-7cm...which means it has become epidural time. Things seem to be moving along a little bit faster now; Lisa and I are hoping that the epidural doesn't slow down the process!

She is still between 6-7cm, but is now 100% effaced...hopefully Colton will want to come as quickly now as he did bright and early this morning.

Once again, thanks for all your love and support!

Halfway there...

The doctor just visited us and it seems as if Lisa is progressing well. She is between 5-6cm, 90% effaced, and -1 station, they think that she will have him sometime after lunch...

Apparently he has hair, why don't yall start guessing the hair color...I am going with a Blondie!

We have been moved...

Our fabulous Doula made it possible for us to be moved into the new wing of the hospital...which means a much larger and more comfortable room! It is making both Lisa and Colton feel much better!

We are getting Lisa up out of bed to go for a walk...we have been in labor now for 5 hours and 12 minutes! I am going to walk with her now, after a little nap and a visit from the doctor I will keep yall up do date and hopefully post some pictures!

Thanks for all your support once again!

3:38 Wake up Call!!!

At 3:38am on July 21st Lisa's water broke, and we made our way to the hospital. We are in our room now, and Lisa is just 3cm and feeling some contractions. We will update you along the way as often as we possibly can. Thank you for all your love and support!

The Waiting Game...

Ever since our doctors appointment on Thursday, Lisa and I have been very excited to bring Colton into this world! The days have been filled with many different emotions that at times can consume the both of us. We have been spending the days washing some of his cute little outfits, making sure that his room is ready for the hundredth time, moving the car seat to better accommodate him, and getting enough batteries to make sure we can adhere to all of his needs...needless to say we are both super excited to meet him, and introduce him to the world!

Lisa is spending her time trying to relax, and some how find just the right position to be comfortable while waiting for his arrival. I am trying my best not to aggravate her, trying to get her whatever it is that she needs, and even finding time to brush Sadie and Chloe.

Thats all for now, hopefully the next time we are writing is to tell yall that we are on are way to the hospital or that she is in labor!!!

Doctor's Visit on 7/16/09

We went to the doctor yesterday and got some great, but unexpected news. It seems that little Colton wants to make his grand arrival a bit earlier than originally planned. Lisa was dialated to almost 3 cm and the doctor doesn't think she'll make it past about 10 days. SO...looks like we'll be seeing Colton soon! This picture was taken after a very long day...Lisa went to work, doctor's appointment, and then a great baby class. Officially she was 36 weeks and 1 day preggers! We learned some great stuff at our baby class...now let's hope we remember it when we need it! We'll keep everyone posted on progress...next doctor's appointment is July 21st.

Nesting for Jeremy

Jeremy has felt a little nesting instinct of his own. He wanted to make sure Colton's house looked nice when he comes home. Doesn't it look awesome!

We're new at this...

Almost all of our friends with new bundles of joy have created blogs or websites for family members to follow. We thought we would give it a try also. Please forgive us, as we are very new at this.

Baby Colton is due to arrive in exactly 4 weeks and 2 days! We are very excited and can't wait to meet him. At our last doctor's visit, Lisa was already 1 cm dialated and her cervix was 50% thinned out. The doctor was pretty certain he was head down. We go back to the doctor 7/16/09 to get an ultrasound to see about how much this little booger weighs and to check everything again.

Comfortable is no longer a word used in Lisa's vocabulary. Sleeping, walking, eating, and all the normal joys in life are increasingly more difficult. Heartburn is a daily occurrence and is not fun at all. Jeremy is so excited to meet his son! He works very hard to take care of Lisa and make sure she doesn't over do it. The nursery is ready and the car seat has been installed...parenthood here we come!
