Our little man is a veggie lover! Or at least he likes carrots! We didn't even have to mix it with cereal. What a trooper! We'll keep him on carrots for a few days...then it's time to try squash! YUMMO!

He's becoming such a big boy! Today we're going to give him his first dose of real baby food...carrots! We'll let you know how it goes! He went to the doctor on Tuesday for his 6 month check-up and shots...he's a whopping 15lbs 8 oz. He is 27 inches long and his head is 16.5 inches around. He is very long/tall for his age. Obviously, he doesn't get that from me. The doctor says he should be cutting those teeth "any day now"...we've heard that before. We'd just like the constant drool to stop for a moment. He LOVES his jumper and watching Sadie and Chloe. Sadie still wants nothing to do with him because he pulls her hair and pokes her in the eye. Chloe hasn't quite figured out that Colton is the boss now. Colton did pull her tail yesterday, she didn't care for that very much.

OMG...have to tell ya'll this story...I put Colton on the bed while I was separating CLEAN laundry. He was sitting up propped up on my pillows. I turned around to put some clothes in my dresser. When I turned back around...Colton had a pair of my underwear in his mouth!!!! That story will be pretty darn funny when he's 25, don't ya think! Yikes!

So much has happened in teh past 6 months! This has been the hardest, best, shortest and longest 6 months for Jeremy and I. Who would have thought that I would loose my Daddy, and other family members would be so sick. Let's hope the worst is behind us now and the best is yet to come! Enjoy our little munchkin!

Almost 6 months old

Don't ya just love my bib and lovely slobber hanging out of my mouth.
Trying to sit up like a big boy!
Here Uncle Luke...let me poke your eye out!

It's hard to believe our little man is almost 6 months old! Seems like we brought him home yesterday. His personality is absolutely adorable...not that I'm biased or anything.

He's really trying to sit up by himself. Inevetably, he falls to one side or the other soon after finding his way to the sitting position. That doesn't seem to bother him one bit, though. He really loves eating his cereal. He opens his mouth sooooo big and sometimes says mmmmm. Or atleast that's what I'm telling myself. He has learned the throw a toy off of the highchair and Mommy will fetch game. He hasn't quite figured out that it's halarious though. If either one of the animals walks in his sight, he wants to promptly poke them in the eye. Neither Sadie or Chloe want anything to do with him :(. When I let Colton pet Sadie, he pulls her hair and won't let go or tries to poke her eyes out, so I don't really blame the dog for moving away from him.
Tomorrow, Colton will be attending his very first birthday party! Bailey, Ashley and Jared's little girl, is turing ONE....holy cow! Then Nick and Vanessa are coming to visit all the way from Maryland. We can't wait to see them!
No teeth yet...but the slobber remains...we'll keep you posted!

Exchanging gifts with Bailey and Hayden (not pictured :()
Daddy and Colton opening presents!
I'm a great helper with ripping the paper!
Give me that!

Our first Christmas as a family!

Thanks Santa for my new ride!
Opening presents is so exhausting, I needed a nap in the middle of them
Opening Colton's stocking...it's bigger than he is!
Santa came!

What a holiday! Santa was soooo good to us! We traveled a lot and think Mommy and Daddy need another week off before heading back to work. The plan for next year...a whole lot less traveling. We had planned to drive to PA before Christmas, but the lovely snow storm changed our plans. We had to cancel that trip, which broke our hearts. We sadly sent our gifts up north to be opened without us. :( Surprisingly, it wasn't that expensive to send all the gifts and they got there PDQ (pretty darn quick). Looking back, it probably was a blessing in disguise because Colton and Mommy were both on antibiotics and trying to kick some nasty colds. We spent the first part of our holiday at home, trying to finish up shopping and cooking. Jeremy was the luck winner of a trip under the house to snaking out the drain on Christmas Eve Eve...he's turning into quite the Mr. Fix It! I'm so lucky! We had to cancel our trip to the Zoo to see the Christmas lights, but there's always next year.
We headed up to Charlotte on Christmas Eve to enjoy time with my family at Michelle's house. Thankfully, their house is much bigger than ours and can accommodate all the clan. Colton was (as always) a good car rider. Michelle was outside anxiously awaiting Colton's arrival. She could hardly wait to put her hands on the little guy! It's been a while since she's seen him. My mom arrived later that day to join the festivities. Per our tradition, we had Ham and Mac-N-Cheese for Christmas Eve dinner and then we headed to Michelle and Bryan's church for Christmas Eve service. Colton slept through the whole thing!
Christmas morning arrived around 7am and we were super excited to see that Santa came! Colton had the biggest stocking and it was overflowing. Santa had brought him some great toys! After we opened all of our gifts and had lunch, we headed to Aunt Phyllis's house to visit with Aunt Phyllis, Kim and Gary. It was nice to see them on the actual holiday, as I think this was the first time we ever did that.
The Duffy's headed home the day after Christmas to unpack and regroup. Then Monday...Lisa and Colton went to spend some quality time with Gramma in Florence. This is where Colton's sleep went crazy. He woke me up 3 or 4 times at night, for no reason. I finally decided to try to feed him around 1am, and he went back to sleep. It seems like as soon as we think we know his schedule, he changes it quickly. Lisa and Colton came back to Columbia on Wednesday, and then we all headed to Greenville Thursday to bring in the New Year with Kim and Brian Pauls. We came back New Years day and were exhausted! We went to bed around 8pm for the past two nights.
Colton has been drooling a lot worse than usual...he's got to be cutting those teeth soon! He's going through about 10-12 bibs a day and at least 2 outfits! Not to gross anyone out or anything, but Colton's been blowing out diapers for over a week now! We have to change not only diapers, but outfits and sheets too! No diaper can contain this kid! We were using Pampers, but have now moved to Huggies...nothing seems to help though. He's happy as a clam, doesn't seem to know he's completely grossing us out!
He's all smiles all day!
