6 weeks have flown by!

Sweet sleeping baby!
Catchin' some rays at Gramma Leazer's house

Precious little toes

Baseball Booty!

Wow...where has the time gone? We can't believe it's been almost 6 weeks since this little guy has graced us with his presence. He's sleeping better and better every night. He's going to sleep around 10 or 11 each night and he doesn't wake up until around 3 or so. Those long stretches are wonderful! He's more and more awake during the day as well...he's so alert! We're anxiously awaiting that first smile at us. He smiles a lot in his sleep, but he hasn't given us one yet. He laughed in his sleep today...it was really cute. We're going to the beach for Labor Day and are looking forward to seeing what he does at the beach. It should be interesting! Jeremy's mom and Michael are coming next week and we're super excited for them to meet Colton! All in all, things are going very well!

Colton is 1 month old today~

Chicks Dig Me! Being 1 month old is exhausting.
Just born...see how much I've changed!

It's hard to believe our little man is one month old today! Time flies when you're sleep deprived! Look at the difference in him since he was born! CRAZY! Jeremy and I are settling into our roles as parents. Thank goodness we have lots of great support from our family and friends. My mom came yesterday and we were exhausted after running errands all day. I don't know how people do this with more than one baby. Colton weighs about 8 lbs now and is still eating like a champ (about 3.5 oz. each feeding). Thank goodness I produce milk like a cow. :) Colton can't wait to see all his friends and family tomorrow for Daddy's big birthday party.

Colton's 4 weeks old today!

Here's lookin' at you kid!
Bath time isn't so bad
How do you like my new belly button?
Thanks for the awesome outfit Grandy and Pop pop! I am blowing you a kiss!

It's hard to believe that just 4 weeks ago today this little guy graced us with his presence for the first time. The weeks have just flown by. I went to the hospital on Monday to meet with a lactation consultant and Colton weighed 7 lbs 14 oz! He's getting to be such a big boy already. After visiting the hospital yesterday, Colton visited Mommy's schools where she works. There were so many people who loved on him! It was the first official Mommy-Son outing without Daddy...I think I did pretty well! Colton's working hard at holding his head up for little bits of time...we're such proud parents! He's starting to turn his head when we talk to him and he can really focus on our faces! Jeremy has only changed a few really nasty poopy diapers, Colton seems to save almost all of those for me! What's up with that? I'll have to have a little chat with him about that. This coming Monday (8/24) Jeremy turns the big 30! Boy he's old, huh? We won't be celebrating like we used to, that's for sure!

Colton's first 3 weeks

A face only a mother could love!

Thanks to Scott, Laurie and Hayden for lending us "The Happiest Baby on the Block" DVD...it seems to have worked! I highly recommend everyone who has a baby or is preggers to watch it. We've actually gotten a little sleep the last few nights...horray! I'm learning to multi-task. As I type right now, Colton is on the floor in his bouncy seat, and I'm rocking him to sleep with my foot. Kinda proud of myself :) Colton got to watch his first Phillies game w/ his Daddy and got to wear his Phillies onesie! Things are going well...Jeremy and I are actually thinking of going out to eat tonight and letting Aston babysit! A little date for Mommy and Daddy...Sushi!!!!
Oh...Colton's belly button finally fell off this week!

Days and Nights...

Colton is blowing kisses!
Colton's days and nights are completely confused! For the past four days/nights, he has awoken around midnight and refuses to go back to sleep until 4 am! Doesn't he know we're exhausted? We watched the Happiest Baby on the Block video last night in hopes of getting more sleep. The swaddling helped, but we'll keep trying! Jeremy returned to work this morning, so I'm here by myself...YIKES! So far, Colton's still alive...I'll keep you posted!
Being parents is hard already. All these important decisions to be made, laundry to be done, feedings, diapers, etc...Completely worth it when you see his sweet little face! I welcome visitors!

Colton is Confused

Colton is three weeks old!
See...he does cry! He is not happy about having to stay awake to eat!

Colton seems to have his days and nights confused. Mommy and Daddy really don't appreciate all the nights of no sleep. For the last three nights, he's been awake from around midnight until 4 am...loads of fun for his parents! Lisa is worried about how this is going to work tonight because Jeremy has to go back to work tomorrow :( Any suggestions about how to get him to understand the difference between day and night? Thanks to Laura for the coffee w/ extra espresso yesterday...sadly, we were still sleepy after that! Colton has been awake more and more each day...we love seeing those baby blues!
Today was Colton's official due date...we can't believe he's already been here for three weeks already! He loves to grunt like an old man when he stretches...it is hilarious! The faces he makes are priceless! Oh...and the diaper champ cannot keep up with the smelly poops coming out of this kid...I guess he is his daddy's son after all. We'll try to keep the updates coming!

Two Week Old Pictures! A message from Colton

I'm two weeks old! Look how big I am! I love my bouncy seat...I love sitting in it and looking around at my surroundings. The other night I was awake for about 2 hours while in my bouncy seat. I also tried to pull Daddy's mouth open...I'm a strong boy!
Mommy and Daddy are doing pretty well, not that I have a lot to compare them to :). They need to take more naps like me, then maybe they would be awake with me at 4 am. Being a baby is great! All I do is poop, pee, sleep, and eat...sometimes all at one time!! Mommy is still making lots of booby milk and it tastes good so I like to eat about every 2 hours. This gets annoying for Mommy and Daddy sometimes! Overall, they are surviving really well...I'm proud!

I'm Two Weeks Old!

Colton was two weeks old yesterday! We took him to the pediatrician this morning and have nothing but great news to share! Colton weighed 6 lbs 4oz when we brought him home; now he weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz! He's growing! Everything looks great! The doctor thinks his belly button will fall off within the next few days. He got his first bath at home yesterday...after we almost flooded the kitchen (twice)...I guess you really do need to read the directions on everything!
The bib above was bought a while ago...just a reminder that Colton loves all his grandpas!

Lack of sleep has set in!

Wow...nothing can prepare you for the lack of sleep that comes with a beautiful new baby. We gave Colton his first bath while we were in Florence...that was interesting! He met his Papa Duffy and Charlotte and they fell in love with him instantly...not a surprise! Since returning from Florence on Wednesday we've taken Colton to Target and Babies R Us twice! That was quite an adventure. I wondered why I couldn't turn the stroller very well and it took me until we were at the second store to realize the front brakes were on...DUH! He met Ashley and Jared's sweet daughter Bailey and was such a trooper when she wondered why he has more hair than she does. (She's 6 months old). Colton's Gramma (Leazer) came to visit us this weekend and was such a huge help! Right now, she's making us some homemade fried chicken fingers..YUMMO! Much thanks to everyone who has brought us food and visited! We've been eating very well. All of the days are running together and we often forget what day of the week it is. Colton is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his Grandy, Pop pop and Great Gram...he can't wait to be spoiled rotten! We'll keep everyone posted and keep the pictures coming!
