More pics

This is pretty cool! Thanks Santa!
Chloe doesn't want us to go anywhere for the holidays!
What??? You don't make this much mess when you eat?
I can fit my spoon and my hand in my mouth at the same time...COOL!
Come here...gimme that!

Colton is gearing up for Santa!

Drool goes with any outfit! Thanks Aunt Jamie for the cool clothes!
My Grandpa Duffy came to visit! I love sticking his beard in my mouth!
Oooo...ornaments...can I put that in my mouth?
How do ya like my Santa hat?

Wow...boy have we been a busy little family! Sorry it's been so long since we've uploaded any pictures or videos. Colton is a busy little boy. He wants to play all the time. He's only taking about two naps a day...Mommy and Daddy need more! He gets up between 6 and 7am and goes to bed around 8pm. He loves his cereal and we're looking forward to him being able to eat some "real" baby food soon. Christmas shopping with a new baby isn't exactly easy or fun. We have to shop very strategically. The other day we waited in line to see Santa for about 2 hours...sheesh! When we got there the line was closed so he could go to lunch. So, we decided to run some other errands. When we returned we realized that Santa hadn't gone to lunch yet, and the line was open. Colton and I got in line and they promptly shut it down so Santa could eat...for an hour! Luckily, we were pretty close to the front when the line opened up. I was fully expecting Colton to grab Santa's beard and pull, but he didn't. We think he was just too tired by that point. There was no screaming or crying or anything dramatic. We did get some pictures and I'll scan it in and try to upload it soon. Very cute! Colton got an early Christmas present yesterday...an excersaucer! Mommy and Daddy just couldn't keep up with his level of playing and he seemed to be bored with all of his toys, so off to Babies R Us went Daddy to save the day! He has been drooling nonstop all week...we sure hope those teeth come in soon! We're washing the bibs and clothes as fast as we can, but can't keep up with his drooling. Colton attended some Christmas parties and was a very good guest! We can't believe how lucky we are that he's so good wherever we seem to take him.

He seemed to pick up a little cold right before Thanksgiving and he couldn't shake it. So, Jeremy took him to the doctor last Friday. The pediatrician put him on some antibiotics and cough medicine. He seems to be better and almost back to his normal self again. I've been sick since Thanksgiving too. So, off to the doctor I went...sheesh! More antibiotics for me! Luckily, neither one of us has anything serious, but a sick Mommy + sick baby = no fun for anyone!

Colton is trying to sit up on his own quite frequently. He eats his feet and hands whenever he can. He is starting to play with his toys in the bathtub (cute!). He talks almost nonstop. He's started blowing raspberries at us...we'll try to get a video...it's hilarious!

Colton's First Taste of Rice Cereal

Yummy!
Here goes nothing!
I'm a messy little booger
I'm ready! (before picture)

We went to the doctor today for Colton's 4 month check up. He's about 4 1/2 months now, but whatever! Anyway...he's a whopping 13.9 lbs and 25.75 inches long! He doesn't weigh near what we thought he did, but he's a solid little man. The doctor gave us the go ahead to try out rice cereal and he loves it! He doesn't quite know how to eat yet...but Mommy doesn't quite know how to feed yet, so we're learning. He was leaning towards the spoon and everything! At one point, he even tried to pick up the bowl. The doctor said we could try real baby food when he is 6 months old, but not until then. He got his second round of shots. He's a real trooper! He only cries for a minute or two, then he's just fine. Let's hope it stays that way.

In case we forgot to tell anyone...we got some really great professional pictures of Colton done a few weeks ago. Please visit http://www.robinvondrakphotography.com/ and click on Client Proofs...then scroll down and see The Duffy Family. Feel free to order some great prints! Robin and his wife Christie did a great job! If you live in the Columbia area...I highly recommend them!

Turkey Day...Yumm!

I'm a little turkey!
Colton meets his Aunt Jamie!
Colton with his Pop-Pop! I loved talking to him!
Jeff, Lesle and Colton (Maddie was near by!)
Colton with his great grandparents for the very first time!

My very first Thanksgiving! I was such a good traveler. I went all the way to Bethlehem, PA! I slept for most of the trip, Mom and Dad drove through the night both there and back. They're pretty worn out, but I'm doing great! My Grandy bought me the most adorable Thanksgiving outfit...do ya like my turkey bib? I got to meet my Great Nanny and Great Pop-Pop. They're pretty special people. My Aunt Jamie is awesome! She got me the coolest skull hat. I'm going to be the coolest baby at day care! I also got to meet my Pop-Pop's daughters and their children. I especially liked Gigi, she wanted to take me home with her. I met Daddy's best friend Jeff, his girlfriend Lesle, and his daughter Maddie. Maddie rocked me right to sleep. I met my Grandpa Duffy's sister Ellen. I can't wait to wear all the cool clothes I got. Thanks everyone!

I've become very interested in food! I watch everything that goes into Mommy and Daddy's mouths. I even tried to grab a piece of lettuce out of Mommy's mouth the other day. At least I'm grabbing for veggies and not pie!

He rolled over without me!

So, this morning I was in a rush to get to work on time. About 10 minutes after I left Jeremy called me. Colton had rolled over from his back to his tummy this morning. He has been working on this really hard for a few days now. Yesterday he was actually trying to find things so he could pull himself over. I can't believe I missed it! At least Jeremy got to see it. Maybe he'll do it for Mommy tonight. We're super excited to be gearing up for our Thanksgiving trip up north! We'll see everyone soon!

Hi Grandy and Pop Pop

The First Week of Day Care is Over...Thank Goodness!

One of Colton's many facial expressions...this one says...WTF!

I thought I would put him in this shirt, just in case someone didn't know he is HANDSOME!

(not so much with that face though)

I think this week was much harder on me than it was on Colton. Jeremy dropped Colton off at daycare every day this week. I just couldn't do it. I still can't. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Thankfully work has been super busy and everyone there is ultra understanding. I don't think I've ever been so excited to come home in my life. It was my first full week back at work. Colton was in daycare Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, then my mom came and took care of the little munchkin Thursday and Friday. We're really looking forward to our trip up north next week for Thanksgiving! We're not looking forward to driving all night to get there, but that's what you do with an infant. Hopefully he'll sleep through the night just like he does at home. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!

We're thinking that Colton may be working on getting a tooth soon. He is slobbering something fierce and puts absolutely everything in his mouth. I'm sure we'll find out soon if our suspicions are correct.

We think he may have the beginnings of his very first cold :(. Today I noticed that he had a bit of a runny nose and he has been sneezing a lot lately. Let's hope it passes quickly!

Jeremy weighed Colton the other day and he was over 15 lbs! Looks like we've got a little chunker on our hands! He's not so much chubby as he is really long. He's about to be in size 3 diapers and wears a size 3-6 months in clothes. I guess he's right on track!

He did it! He rolled over!

We have been waiting for this for weeks! I can't believe we were lucky enough to catch it on camera. Sorry for the abrupt stop, but I got so excited! Going back to work this week was hard, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It really helped that my Mom was able to come and watch him Thursday and Friday while I went to work. THANKS! Jeremy is going to drop the little man off at day care and I'll pick him up for a little while, until I get used to this. I never thought I would be so upset about leaving him, but I guess I'm just like every other mom! Go figure! It also doesn't hurt that I'm super busy at work. There are tons of little ones who need help. I will try to get another roll over moment on tape soon! Have a great week everyone!

Mom's last week of Maternity Leave :(

Mom...do you mind? I'm trying to play here!
Sadie wants to play
I even brought my ball...can you play with me now?
Colton in his Halloween bib and skeleton outfit.Mom with her little lobster!
This week has flown by. I can't believe I start work again tomorrow. Seems like just yesterday we brought this little man home from the hospital. I'm really glad my mom lives so close and she will be able to keep Colton Thursday and Friday. Then he will head to big boy day care on Monday morning. I may need emotional support...I'm sure he'll be fine, but I'm not so sure about me.
We think he's going to roll over any day now. He's been throwing his legs from side to side, but I'm sure he'll wait until I'm not here to see it. He likes doing new things for my mom (Gramma), so I'm sure she'll get to see it. Let's just hope she can get it on camera. We're trying to upload a video from last night; it's taking entirely too long. It's really long, but he was having fun with his toys. We tried to get him to "talk" while playing, but he wouldn't perform. Go figure!~
We had to put the bumpers back on his crib this week. I woke up around 5am to find the little man's legs hanging out of his crib! It freaked me out a bit, so we fixed that problem with bumpers. He's been quite the escape artist when it comes to his swaddle. We're trying to wean him off of the swaddle by keeping one arm out. Somehow, he always seems to get the other one out too. Then he wakes me up by sucking his hands at 3am...sheesh!
Not much else has changed with the little man...he continues to get bigger and bigger every day!

Reaching and talking

I just had to share this video of Colton playing with his toys and talking to them. Please excuse the cheesy commentary provided by me. This weekend he started to reach for toys and play with them.

Boo at the Zoo

Aren't I precious!

Daddy's little Lobster!
Ya like my tail?
Before I got dressed!
Being this cute is hard work!
The Duffy Family with the Jones Family!~
I'm standing up

Tonight we went to the River Banks Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. It was a blast! We had so much fun seeing all the kids in their costumes. Of course, we thought Colton was the cutest one there ;). I'm pretty sure he was the only lobster...we're so original! We went with Jared, Ashley and Bailey. Bailey was so adorable in her strawberry costume. He was a champ through the whole thing...but being that cute will wear a baby out. Here are some of the pictures of him in his costume! I think I'll dress him up again for actual Halloween and take more pics!

Colton has had a busy week!

I'm such a big boy, standing up! Thanks for the cute outfit Aunt Phyllis! Colton smiling at Aunt Phyllis

Lisa and Meredith with Colton, Izzie (black doggie) and Dallas (golden doggie)

Colton and Daddy are worn out! What a week!~

We have had a super busy week! Sunday, we had dinner with Colin and Meredith. Hopefully Colton worked his magic and they are thinking about babies ;). Tuesday, Mom, Colton and I went to visit Aunt Phyllis. He smiled at her immediately...he must know he is much loved by all! While we were in Charlotte, I picked up some adorable outfits for our trip to Pennsylvania. I know it will be a lot colder there than it will be here, so I wanted to make sure he would be nice and cozy. My mom is really enjoying spoiling Colton every time she sees him. Pretty soon, he's going to have his own room at her house :). Wednesday was my birthday, the big 2-9...wow...I'm getting OLD! We went out to dinner and Colton was a champ. Colton also turned 3 months old on Wednesday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! Thursday I met up with some of my co-workers from Richland One for lunch and he flirted with them. Now it's Friday and we're off again...this time we're headed to Florence for the weekend for yard work...or everyone else will be doing yard work and I will be on baby duty.

We've noticed a few changes in our little man. He's begun using his fingers independently and bends his wrist now. He moves his ankles and toes, too. He smiles at everyone. He's such a happy baby. We're very lucky. We're attempting to change his schedule slightly in anticipation of my return to work in a few weeks (tear...tear). I go back to work on 11/5. I've been getting him up a little earlier each day...sadly, it's not making him go to bed any earlier...still around 9pm...sheesh! He is still sleeping through the night, though. However, I've realized that if I have to wake him up earlier, that means that I have to wake up earlier...I don't really like that part of the bargain. I think he's been trying to laugh. It's more like a high pitched squeal, but I love it just the same. I've heard him laugh/giggle in his sleep, but not so much when he's awake. It makes you wonder what their dreaming about, huh?

On to bigger news....NO, we're not pregnant again. I've lost all of my baby weight!!! I'm fitting into jeans that I couldn't wear before I was pregnant. I guess pumping all that breast milk is paying off. Jeremy has lost over 20 lbs of sympathy weight. We're so proud of each other! We're on the road to being newer versions of our skinny selves! Jeremy been holding baseball practice this week and wasn't able to get home until around 6 pm...makes for a very long day for both Mommy and Daddy. Mommy really liked those days when Daddy got home around 4pm.

When we get back from Florence on Sunday, we're meeting the Jones Clan (Jared, Ashley and Bailey) for dinner and then we're headed to Boo at the Zoo. I can't wait to take pictures of Colton as a little lobster! He's going to be adorable! We'll take tons of pictures for everyone to see!

I really want to roll over, this is hard!

Colton's New Trick

I just really liked this onsie...sorry!
Colton and Daddy playing face games.
I LOVE my bath

We've taught Colton his first bad trick. He doesn't like doing it on camera, but I got a little bit of it on this video. Usually when we stick our tongue out, he does the same...except when the camera is around...sneaky little devil. We just crack up every time he does it, and he thinks it's pretty darn funny too. Over the weekend, I went and visited my mom (aka Gramma) and weighed Colton...a whopping 13 lbs! We knew he was getting big; he's now more than double his weight when we brought him home! Yesterday and today were out of his normal. He's been eating 5 ounces of food every 3-4 hours instead of 4 ounces every 2 hours. Today, Colton slept until 9am and then took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. I didn't know what to do with all that time. I should have done something fun, like sleep, but I cleaned house instead. I hope he isn't getting sick...any other people have babies change their schedules so fast like that?

He is just a delight and we don't remember what on Earth we did before he came. We sure did waste a lot of time! I washed his very first Halloween costume today and can't wait for him to wear it. He's going to be a little lobster...adorable!!! We're planning to go to Boo at the Zoo (Riverbanks Zoo) with Ashley, Jared, and Bailey...who cares if the kids won't remember...it's all about us, right? I'll be sure to take a million pictures!

Oh, and he's getting more hair on the top of his little head. It still has a redish color to it :). Pretty soon, he won't look like he has a receding hairline.

Week 10!!!!

The new family at the Irmo football game!
Mom...why did you make me wear this silly hat?
I'm such a big boy, sitting in my Bumbo seat!
The beginnings of a big grin!

The house is completely disorganized, which (as most of you know) is very unlike my personality. It's driving me CRAZY! We have stuff everywhere...and not in it's "home". I guess it's not that bad that it's taken me almost 11 weeks to get sick of the mess. Sadly I look forward to things like cutting my toe nails...which actually takes scheduling now. We are going to work hard, or not so hard, at getting a little more organized and, hopefully, staying that way. I was thrilled earlier this week when I got a shower, brushed my teeth and ate lunch all before 12pm. I was very excited! Colton is steadily sleeping through the night...hooray! He goes to sleep around 9 and doesn't wake up until 5 or 6 am. This is WONDERFUL...although I still wake up for his 3 am feedings...go figure. I'm hoping this, too, will pass (me waking up, not him sleeping). During the day, he's eating about every 2 to 2.5 hours....must be storing up for the winter. This week we decided to travel to PA for Thanksgiving and are super excited for Colton to meet the rest of his family! He has become more and more talkative...it's really cute! He enjoys sucking on his hands and arms...or whatever he can get his mouth on (shirts, other people, whatever!).
